Drafter/Designer / 11-1257

Position Description:

DJO Global is a leading global developer, manufacturer and distributor of high-quality medical devices and services that provide solutions for musculoskeletal health, vascular health and pain management. We are currently seeking a Drafter/Designer in Austin, Texas. We are located near 183/Burnet Road area.

Summary: Works with engineering staff to develop engineering documentation of varied scope and complexity. Work on detail design of product components. To effectively perform tasks, must have knowledge of and the ability to apply expertise in machine design, materials selection, shop tools, 3D solid modeling, and fabrication techniques.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings for use in production from legacy hardcopy drawings, from existing CAD models, and based on input from Engineers.
• Design tooling utilizing engineering input, with direction.
• Investigate and make recommendation on component selection.
• Perform CAD-based design tasks of minimal complexity.
• Release drawings through the Engineering Change Order process.
• Interface with vendors as necessary.
• Design prototypes.
• Document all work in accordance with established department procedures.
• Record data in Drafting Order Log.
• Performs duties as required by Product Development staff.

Qualifications/Education/Experience:
• High School Diploma.
• 2 or more years mechanical designer/drafting background or drafting schooling.
• DFM and inspection methods experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of GD&T is preferred.
• Experience in orthopedics and medical device industry preferred.

Computer Skills:
• Must have minimum of 2 years CAD experience, (SolidWorks preferred).
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, spreadsheet software, order processing systems, and manufacturing software.



Graphics/ CAD Specialist

Our Austin, TX client is seeking a Graphics/​CAD Specialist for their Environmental Consulting firm on a temporary to possible hire basis.​

Purpose:
  • The draftsperson/​CAD operator will create plans and figures for proposals, reports and specifications.​
    Including developing environmental models to support future water planning efforts.​
Requirements:
  • CAD operator with graphics training or experience
  • Associates degree
  • 2-4 years experience in graphic and mapping support related to production of site-specific environmental reports and environmental litigation
  • Proficient in the latest version of AutoCAD and ArcGIS
  • MS Access experience is desirable
